This very simple science activity is a fun take on a magic opening flowers investigation. It’s also part of my Halloween paper science experiment pack containing five easy paper based activities for Halloween.
The idea is to fold the paper ghosts up and watch as they open in the water. This happens because the paper is made of lots of fibres which absorb the water, making the paper expand slightly, and the ghost shape open up!
You’ll need
Scissors
Tray
Water
Instructions
Carefully cut out the ghost shapes from the template ( or draw your own ).
Fold up the legs, arms and feet.
Pour about 1cm of clean water into a tray.
Place the ghosts on the surface of the water.
Watch as they open up!
